Kia ora! I'm Meg, the founder of Megs Woof and Wag Adventures. My journey with dogs spans over 15 years, driven by a simple, profound love for our furry companions. Here in North Canterbury, I've created a service where every dog feels loved, safe, and truly happy.
My lifelong adventure with dogs
My passion for dogs isn't just a job; it's a way of life. For over 15 years, I've been immersed in the world of canines – from dog walking and boarding to training and rescue. Dogs bring so much joy; they don't judge, they just love. It's this unconditional affection that fuels my dedication to their well-being and happiness here in beautiful North Canterbury.
Nurturing the little ones and the golden oldies
At Megs Woof and Wag Adventures, I have a special place in my heart for the overlooked members of the pack: the tiny explorers and our cherished golden oldies. Little dogs although big in attitude, and senior dogs who are wise and mature, often get forgotten, still deserve their gentle adventures. I ensure they receive the utmost care, tailored to their unique needs, ensuring their comfort and happiness every step of the way.
Expertise and experience you can trust
With 15 years of hands-on experience in dog walking, boarding, daycare, and rescue, combined with a Certificate in Animal Behaviour, you can rest assured your beloved pet is in capable hands. I spent 10 years rescuing unwanted dogs and puppies, getting them back to optimum health before putting them through the adoption process to find their forever homes. This included health checks, vaccines, worming, de-sexing and behavioural assessments through to training to prepare them for their new beginnings. A lot of these dogs then came back to board with me me in my home. I understand dog behaviour, ensuring a safe, fun, and enriching experience for all. My deep knowledge means I can cater to individual personalities and needs, making every outing a positive one.

Megan provided regular care for our dear dog, Poppy. Megan’s knowledge and competence always shone through in all her interactions and care of our wee girl. Poppy had been rescued from a farm, and had enduring trauma, needing gentle care when she was out of her comfort zone.
Megan’s nurturing attention was very special for Poppy. We have seen Megan manage many dogs at once, when she provided Boarding for Poppy. These dogs all had their own needs, and Megan’s attention to them and kind guidance really did illustrate her level of expertise and vast knowledge in all things dog.

I can’t recommend Megan at Woof and Wag Adventures highly enough. She looked after my beloved Zak for more than four years, taking him on lovely walks and playing ball with him while I was at work. I never had to worry about him feeling lonely, I always knew he was having the best time, getting plenty of exercise, and being spoiled with cuddles. Zak absolutely adored her!
Megan is incredibly kind, caring, and a true animal lover. Having owned many dogs herself, she really understands dog behaviour and took the time to get to know all of Zak’s little quirks and routines. I always felt completely confident that he was safe, happy, and in the best hands.
